Alaa Ashmawy, Dean of Engineering (AUD, UAE) and President-Elect of IFEES Dr. Alaa holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in US and B.S. in Civil Engineering from Alexandria University (Distinction with Honors) in Egypt. Dr. Alaa Ashmawy joined AUD in 2006 as Dean of Engineering. Prior to his appointment at AUD, he had been a tenured Associate Professor at the University of South Florida in Tampa. His expertise is in geotechnical Engineering, with interests in numerical modeling of foundations and earth structures, environmental geotechnics, and soil dynamics & earthquake Engineering. Dr. Ashmawy's experience includes Engineering consulting for a number of companies in the US, and a visiting professorship at the Universidád de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico. He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Florida (USA) and an ABET Program Evaluator.

Dr. Hany El Kadi is the Dean of the College of Technological Innovation at Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates. Prior to joining Zayed University in 2018, he has been at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) in the United Arab Emirates for twenty years. He has served as Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department for 5 years, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering for 11 years and Interim Vice-Provost for Undergraduate Affairs & Instruction for 2 years. Dr. El Kadi received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta in Canada and received his BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alexandria in Egypt. He has also served as a faculty member at Winona State University, MN, USA and at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in AZ, USA. Dr. El Kadi’s research is in the area of fatigue and fracture of composite materials, artificial neural networks and engineering education.

Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, College of Engineering Prof. Hassan Barada has been the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies of the College of Engineering at Khalifa University since September 2010. He has over 27 years of experience in the field of engineering in an academic setting. Professor Barada received Bachelor, Master, and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University, USA in 1984, 1986, and 1989, respectively. Before he joined the founding team of Khalifa University in 2008, he held academic posts at Lehigh University (USA) from 1989 to 1995, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KSA) from 1995 to 1999, and Etisalat University College (UAE) from 1999 to 2008. As Khalifa University’s Associate Dean, Prof. Barada is responsible for overseeing the College of Engineering’s academic programs and initiatives that support and enhance academic success and the learning experience of students. He also leads the effort in securing national (CAA) and international accreditation (ABET) for all undergraduate engineering programs. Prof. Barada’s research interests are in distributed systems with a focus on algorithm design for services and applications. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of the IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Education Society, and the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). He was the Chairman of IEEE Computer Society, Lehigh Valley Section, USA from 1992 to 1995.

Dr. Khawaja holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University in Computer and Electrical Engineering. His consulting and research activity is in the area of software development and enterprise systems architecture and technologies. Before joining RIT-Dubai, Dr. Khawaja was the Associate Dean of the School of Engineering at the American University in Dubai. In his eight years tenure at AUD, he spearheaded the CIT program's ABET-CAC accreditation and Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs (MOE-HEA) reaccreditations. He also led the creation and accreditation of a new Computer Science program and the creation and accreditation of an IT graduate program. His effort has focused on creating a premier education environment recognizing various human dimensions and utilizing state-of-the-art assessment processes that use Java technologies to assess learning outcomes accomplishment at various levels. This is then used to drive improvement efforts. He is also a senior architecture and systems consultant at Harf Information Technology, a leading provider of training and e-learning solutions in Saudi Arabia. Professor ?irin Tekinay joined American University of Sharjah as Dean of Engineering in February 2020. Professor Tekinay has held posts of academic administration as Dean of Engineering, Vice President, and Rector at universi-ties in Turkey. Prior to that, she was Program Director at the US National Science Foundation, tenured faculty at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Director of NJ Center for Wireless Telecommunications. Michael K. J. Milligan is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in the STEM disciplines. In this role, Milligan is responsible for all aspects of ABET global operations and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Dr. J. Carlos Santamarina is Pro-fessor of Energy Resources and Petroleum Engineering and As-sociate Director of the Ali I. Al-Naimi Petroleum Engineering Research Center at KAUST in Thuwal, KSA. Prior to joining KAUST in 2015, he was Pro- fessor and Goizueta Foundation Faculty Chair at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in the USA. He is a frequent keynote lecturer in the field of energy geoscience and engineering, and delivered the American Society of Civil Engineers 50th Terzaghi Lecture on Energy Geotechnology. His is a two-time recipient of the International Hogentogler Award from ATSM and was British Geotechnical Association Touring Lecturer in 2012.

Dr. Ben Jaafar currently serves as the CEO of the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, one of the largest privately funded philanthropic education initiatives in the Arab world. Daniela Iacona is the Director for International Engagement and Governance at ABET, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits college and university-level programs in the disciplines of applied & natural sciences, computing, engineering, and engineering technology worldwide. Ms. Iacona has supported ABET’s mission for fifteen years and has played a key role in the development and implementation of its global operations plan. Ms. Iacona currently oversees all of ABET’s international initiatives, including its engagement in mutual recognition agreements, memoranda of understanding, and global outreach and collaboration activities. James N Warnock, PhD Professor & Founding Chair, School of Chemical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering University of Georgia James N. Warnock is a professor and the founding chair for the School of Chemical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Georgia, Athens, USA. Before coming to Athens, Dr. Warnock served as the associate dean for academic affairs at Mississippi State University’s Bagley College of Engineering. Maurice Danaher is an Associate Professor in the College of Technological Innovation at Zayed University, United Arab Emirates. His research is in the area of IT Education and he has published extensively on quality aspects of IT and Engineering Education.
